An Open Letter to Republican Candidate Linda McMahon

By: Chris P. Janelli, CEO, Distressed Patriots for America (www.DistressedPatriots.US)

Dear Linda,

I am writing because you repeatedly solicit my vote. If you are the woman you portray yourself to be, you wouldn’t want me to pull any punches.

When I received your first political campaign mailer, I was wowed. You said all the right things and were doing it on your own dime. I don’t buy your WWE product, but I know your company’s success by the numbers. Your organization is a phenomenal creator, packager and marketer of “people” product. Why should it be anything less for you for a US Senate campaign?

When I shared my initial enthusiastic impression about you with my political business partner suggesting you were someone we should support, she suggested I do my homework. Much to my chagrin I learned you contributed to Rahm Emanuel and had Gov. Lowell Palmer Weicker, Jr. on the WWE Board of Directors; you call yourself a conservative Republican? I can appreciate the “business reasons” spin, but after watching Barry Soetoro lie his way into the White House, I will not support any RINO who plans to buy their way into the US Senate.

$50 million is a substantial opening bet against good people who have served Connecticut well. I was annoyed enough over your Rahm Emmanuel support to blog Linda McMahon's Audacious Campaign Body Slams Connecticut; If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. There’s no need to respond to that article as an advisor to our group has already spoken with you about these glaring discrepancies.

I am going to call your $50 million bet. You’ve put your money where your mouth is, but will you put your money where it will do Connecticut, and you, real good? Distressed Patriots for America supports Justin Bernier in his run against Chris Murphy for the House seat in CT’s 5th District. Some believe Murphy could be a replacement for Dodd leaving the door open for Justin to walk into Congress. The other evening I had the pleasure to meet Rob Merkle, Republican candidate for CT’s 4th Congressional District. What I realized during the evening with Rob is that he and Justin potentially represent your team in DC should you be elected to represent Connecticut in the US Senate. These are real fiscal conservatives who are young, solid and committed to real change. More importantly, they understand how bad things are in Connecticut and America, and how things will likely get worse before they get better. And there will be other Republicans who step forth to challenge Larson, Courtney and DeLauro. These Republican challengers are equally as important as who Connecticut’s citizens put into the Senate.

I believe in, and more importantly, respect Justin and Rob as candidates. So I ask you, are you supporting them? Have you met with them? Are you collaborating with them? Are you helping to put together a state Republican team to help turn the tide in Connecticut? Are you even thinking about Connecticut, or simply focused on securing a $174,000 a year job with interesting perks? Bottom line: are you helping to fund your fellow conservative Republicans in the congressional battle to throw out the liberal Democratic bums Murphy and Himes? Bernier and Merkle are your potential “partners” in transforming Washington, DC, so please tell me what you are doing to build and support a winning fiscally conservative Connecticut GOP coalition?

There are dozens of well organized and energized grassroots organizations across Connecticut, such as Distressed Patriots for America and the tea party organizations, pursuing conservative initiatives encompassing the US Constitution, the Second Amendment, pro life, school audits, government transparency, fair tax and other vital initiatives. These groups are working for conservative change in Connecticut and pushing back against this administration and an imperial Congress that simply wants to dominate every aspect of the American citizen’s life. I am meeting and getting to know these good people of Connecticut. These people are the conservative backbone of Connecticut; these are people who you should not only be courting, but supporting!

How many grassroots initiatives across this state are you financially helping? These are the people and the initiatives that will get out the vote, campaign for you, demonstrate against Dodd for you, but what are YOU doing for THEM?

If you think you have my vote simply because I am against Dodd, think again. People like me are fed up with people who think they can lie, cheat and buy their way into political office. Let me explain what my vote represents. My vote is my consent to put you into a position of authority that allows you to create the laws that affect my life. For me to consent to such position and authority, I must believe in you. If not, it is my duty to revolt against you. And it isn’t just me; you need the consent of “We the People of Connecticut.” Without that, I’ll take a pass on you and wait for the next challenger to appear.

With a $50 million war chest and what I have received in the mail to date, I suspect you are mailing every registered Republican and a lot of Independents in the state of Connecticut. But are you reaching the hearts, minds and souls of the people with whom you really need to connect? The people who would work for you in the same way they have worked and demonstrated against Dodd, and demonstrated against Obama’s march to national destitution, government healthcare and global mediocrity?

I, like most citizens in Connecticut, admire your business success; it represents exactly what America is supposed to be! But Connecticut is on a path to eventual destitution because of the kind of people this state elects to state office and DC. And sadly, you have a history of supporting those kinds of people; and not voting. Your potential election to go to DC is just a part of the bigger picture, which is Connecticut; the once upon a time Constitution State. Are you prepared to become the Linda “Soros” for a fiscally conservative Connecticut and fund the grassroots organizations fighting the causes you espouse?

I ask again, what are you doing to help support change in the liberal “tax & spend” Democratic controlled Connecticut state legislature? There are many people fighting the conservative fight in Connecticut. People like ex-State Senator Joe Markely who is dedicated to identifying fiscally conservative candidates across Connecticut to run against liberal democratic incumbents, who could be brought to your candidacy. Joe is extremely well known amongst the Republican and conservative grass roots organizations throughout the state. Do you even know this man? This is a man and mission that could use your financial support, and your media and marketing support, in his vitally important mission. He is also a person who could really rally troops to the right challenger’s side.

Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s great when an American like you is prepared to spend $50 million of their own to secure a job paying $174 thousand a year; plus perks. But then again, there’s something alluring about being one of 100 amongst 300 million Americans; the cocktails are free, the canapés unending and you get to meet some interesting people.

So Linda, the bottom line to secure my vote is for you to answer me this:

1. What are you prepared to do to support the grassroots conservative organizations and initiatives across Connecticut?

2. What are you going to do for potential team players like Justin Bernier and Rob Merkle who could really use your financial support and marketing knowledge to beat their Democratic incumbents?

3. Will you support Senator Sam S. F. Caligiuri if he decides to run for Governor?

4. Are you prepared to really put your money where your mouth is and put your media muscle behind the opportunity to build a team of Connecticut fiscal conservatives who want to bring change to DC, or is it simply about the spending up to $50 million to buy a prestigious $174,000 a year job?

5. Is the title “Senator” so valuable, or is it truly your mission to live by the words you speak?

If I like you answers, perhaps I’ll give you my consent to represent me in the Senate.

Sincerely,
Chris Janelli
Chief Executive Officer
