The school system I was educated in taught that for something to be considered scientific fact the research finding(s) must be reproducible by other scientists, using the same methodology and data. Any variation in results requires close study of the methodology in order to identify unexpected variables that may have influenced the outcome. The insistence by the “manmade global warming” cult scientists that there is some consensus, when in fact there is not, has puzzled me. This puzzled me because, despite their veneer of over-confidence, there has been widespread failure to share the details of their research methodology and foundation data so others can carry out the same research in an attempt to verify the results.
For years I have noted that Freedom of Information requests and requests for details by competing scientists, have been ignored and stalled. This leads me to the conclusion the cult scientists do not want to share the details of their methodology and original data because they have something to hide. They knew other scientists would not be able to carry out the same experiments and reach the same conclusions. The recent “Climategate Scandal” emails and related documents confirmed my suspicion.
The UN IPCC and our EPA have based decisions and policy recommendations on the research now in serious question. Nations all over the world have also made their environmental and energy policy decisions with the fraudulent research. I would suggest to you that this fraud has cost not only the US, but the whole world, even more than the recent worldwide financial crash.
True to form, the marginal media – CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC and MSNBC – have done their best to ignore and minimize the unscientific behavior of not only the East Anglia University researchers, but others working with them all over the world – Michael Mann under investigation at Penn State University is but one case in point. The destruction and falsification of data in order to achieve a pre-determined result, conspiracy to suppress contrary research and cut off funding for the same is the probably the biggest international fraud ever in history. The extent of this unscientific and fraudulent behavior worldwide has yet to be determined and should give us all pause before making any further decisions on how to manage the global warming issue so as to avoid doing more harm than good.
I recently learned of a new discovery in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis and it has turned the conventional wisdom in medical theory and treatment of the disease on its head. Rather than MS being an auto immune disorder, Italian vascular surgeon Dr. Paolo Zamboni, while searching for a cure for his 51 year old wife, has discovered that it may be caused by a stricture of the veins leading from the brain back to the heart and lungs. The stricture causes the blood to back up or reflux into the brain, leaving iron deposits and causing other damage. Every MS patient whose records he has examined has the same venous strictures and iron deposits. Traditional medical opinion was that the iron deposits were caused by the MS, and no one else ever noticed the vein strictures or questioned whether or not the iron deposits might rather be part of the cause of the disease.
By surgically expanding the vein strictures to allow proper blood flow out of the brain, Dr. Zamboni found that the course of the disease is permanently stopped in its tracks and there is even some reduction of the symptoms that had already developed. The strictures may be congenital, which explains why MS is often hereditary in families. They can also be identified early, and by early surgical intervention the disease prevented all together.
Now what, you may ask, does this have to do with manmade global warming theory? I noted in my study of Dr. Zamboni’s work, that the biggest problem the man faces is the entrenched paradigm that MS is an auto immune system disease. Doctors have been trained for so long that this is the case, and all of their efforts and research funding have been focused on that fundamental belief, that for the most part very few will give any consideration or credence to what this vascular surgeon discovered. There are a few in Italy now working with Zamboni, and the University of Buffalo has a research study coming out in January in conjunction with him.
Behaviorists examining the human response to paradigm change have long recognized that those invested in the conventional wisdom tend to be so entrenched that when faced with a paradigm change they cannot deal with it rationally and either ignore it at first and/or try to destroy the messenger. In the case of treatment for those suffering from MS, as a dear family friend of mine does, this dilly-dallying and denial stonewalls much needed new research that may well result in timely cures of the afflicted, prevent any more deaths from the disease and prevention of any new sufferers.
In the case of the Climategate scandal, stonewalling and denial only slows our ability to forthrightly investigate and clarify the extent of the fraud, and establish an honest, properly documented new process of open, unbiased scientific research. Only then can we find out what, if anything, is really going on with climate before we jump into crazy, expensive, economically and socially destructive solutions that are based on hysteria, fantasy and lies.
