Congress.org is a leading free public services web site that helps keep you informed and makes it EASY to email your Senators and Congressmen/women to let them know exactly what you think about their political views, actions and votes.

At Congress.org you can identify Congressional representatives; research Congressional voting records; learn about the issues of the day; and send e-mail directly to Congress as well as to your state and local officials.

To Send Email to Your Elected Representatives

1. Go to the www.congress.org home page

2. Look for MY ELECTED OFFICIALS and enter your 6-digit ZIP code; click GO

3. You will see your WRITE YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS and the President, Congressional, State Governor and Representatives names in blue. Click on the name you want to send an email.

4. The official’s profile box will open in Bio mode. Next to the Bio tab is Contact; click Contact.

5. Then click on Web Form. Example: Contact Sen. Christopher Dodd via Web Form.

6. Select a message topic or choose at the bottom Compose Your Own Letter. Click NEXT STEP.

7. Complete the rest of the form, write your message and click SEND MESSAGE.

Suggestion: If you want to send the same message to more than one official, simply cut and paste text from a word document into the Congress.org email web form. You may also use emails posted on the Correspondence to Officials page.

If you want to investigate exactly how your elected officials are voting on all bills that are affecting your life and wallet, The Washington Post has an excellent U.S. Congress Votes Database

We found this database an excellent resource that provides users with several ways to sort through bills and focus on how elected officials individually and by party voted on those bills.
